Tens of thousands of people live and work across the England-Wales border and depend on healthcare in whichever nation is closest or best equipped. Poor coordination can leave patients in limbo, delay treatment, or create unfair costs between the two health systems. This affects how effectively devolved health policy works in practice and whether the border itself becomes a barrier to care.
