Commonwealth and Development Affairs, what steps her Department is taking to help eradicate polio overseas.

The UK remains committed to eradicating polio.We will continue to support the Global Polio Eradication Initiative directly until December 2026.Then we will support polio eradication through our £248 million of fully flexible core funding to the World Health Organisation between 2025 and 2028.Alongside this our £1.25 billion investment in Gavi between 2026 and 2030 will deliver routine immunisation to up to 500 million children including against polio.

What assessment she has made of the potential impact of increased defence spending on Wales.

The Defence Industrial Strategy will ensure that defence is an engine for growth across the UK, including Wales.Wales’s thriving defence sector will benefit from its own Defence Growth Deal backed by a share of £250m.The deal will harness Wales’s strengths in autonomy and aerospace, unlocking growth, innovation, and jobs across defence and the wider advanced manufacturing sector.

What assessment he has made of the potential impact of NHS practitioners prescribing parkrun on public health.

Parkrun is a fantastic achievement - helping thousands of people to move more. Social prescribing like this can really boost people’s health and wellbeing. We know that movement saves the NHS around £10.5 billion a year – but 12 million adults are still inactive. We need a team effort to succeed in getting millions more moving and there’s lots for us to learn from Parkrun’s experience.

Whether (a) Newington Road Surgery limited, (b) Lockwood Surgery prime health ltd, (c) Fieldhead health limited, (d) Mid Dorset primary healthcare limited, (e) Fieldhead property ltd, (f) Fieldhead medical services ltd, (g) Lockwood property ltd, (h) Gamaq Lockwood limited, (i) Gamaq Nook limited, (j) Viaduct care network limited, (k) Greenwood PCN limited and (l) Blue PCN limited have been subject to rulings by the Care Quality Commission.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) can bring prosecutions against providers. The CQC has not brought any criminal prosecutions against any of the providers referred to in the Hon. Member’s question. The CQC issued Newington Road Surgery Limited with two warning notices in June 2019, for breaches of Regulations 13 (Safeguarding service users from abuse and improper treatment) and Regulation 17 (Good governance) of the Health and Social Care Act (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. The CQC also issued two further warning notices to this provider in March 2022 for breaches of Regulations 12 (Safe care and treatment) and Regulation 17 (Good governance).

Whether (a) companies and (b) subsidiaries trading under (i) E-Harley Healthcare Services Ltd and (ii) Harley Street Health Online Ltd been subject to rulings by the Care Quality Commission.

The CQC has not brought any criminal prosecutions against E-Harley Healthcare Services Ltd and Harley Street Health Online Ltd. In September 2021, the CQC urgently suspended registration of Harley Street Healthcare Ltd for breaches of Regulation 17 (Good Governance) of the Health and Social Care Act (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.
