What recent estimate she has made of the aggregate value of crypto-assets held by (a) her Department and (b) police forces.

The Government does not currently publish the amount of cryptocurrency restrained / recovered under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.The Home office is reviewing plans to publish new statistics on Crypto assets as part of future annual stats bulletins on asset recovery in response to the new powers that came into effect in April 2024.Official statistics published by the Home Office are kept under review in line with the Code of Practice for Statistics, taking into account a number of factors including user needs, the resources required to compile the statistics, as well as quality and availability of data. These reviews allow us to balance the production of our regular statistics whilst developing new statistics for future release.

Whether the students from Gaza granted permission to study in the United Kingdom under the Chevening scheme will be subject to any security checks or vetting.

Reply

Robust security checks will be undertaken on the Chevening Scholars and all students who enter the UK through this process. Biometrics will be collected as part of the visa application process and prior to the final decision on granting entry to the UK as a student.

With reference to the document entitled Civil Service 2024/2025 External Expenditure on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, published on 30 May 2025, which suppliers were used to provide the International Women's Day event.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct is independent of the Home Office and other Departments.Subscriptions to third party organisations are for them to decide.

The Cabinet Office publishes a regular National Risk Register (National Risk Register 2025 - GOV.UK), including assessments relating to large-scale disorder, and the government also continues to work closely on an ongoing basis with the police who are responsible for monitoring threats to public orders.

The terms of reference for the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (RAVEC) agreed in 2021 set out the Committee’s membership, which includes the Home Office, Cabinet Office, and Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.These departments are represented in the Committee by:A senior official in the Homeland Security Group who represents the Home Office.A senior official in the National Security Secretariat who represents the Cabinet Office.A senior official in the Protocol Directorate who represents the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.

What criteria her Department will use to determine which countries are on the enhanced tier of the Foreign Influence Registration Scheme.

As set out in the National Security Act 2023, the Secretary of State may make a specification under the enhanced tier of the Foreign Influence Registration Scheme (FIRS) where they consider it is reasonably necessary to do so to protect the safety or interests of the United Kingdom.The Secretary of State will consider a broad range of UK interests when deciding if a country should be specified, and the nature and scope of any such specification. This will include how a specification would support the UK’s national security and the Government’s long-term, strategic approach to the country under consideration.

The Government does not routinely publish correspondence from external organisations and stakeholders as this may inhibit the free exchange of views and information necessary for the effective conduct of policy development.

Whether appointments to the Border Security Command will be included in the Public Bodies Order in Council; and whether the chair appointment will be classified as a significant appointment.

The Border Security Command was established on 5 July 2024. Martin Hewitt CBE QPM was appointed as Border Security Commander, as a Civil Servant, on 7 October 2024.The Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Bill will place the role of the Border Security Commander on a statutory footing, designating the postholder as a Civil Servant (Part 1, Chapter 1, Clause 1).

The UK is committed to fighting corruption and illicit finance both domestically and internationally. As with all cases, it is for independent law enforcement agencies and prosecutors to determine whether to undertake investigationsThe National Crime Agency is part of the UK's effort to support Bangladesh in tackling corruption as well as wider law enforcement issues. As a matter of policy, we do not routinely confirm or deny NCA investigations.

With reference to page 6 of the policy paper entitled Plan for Change: Milestones for mission-led government, published on 5 December 2024, CP1210, how many and what proportion of the additional police officers will be (a) full-time police constables, (b) full-time detective constables, (c) PCSOs and (d) special constables.

Reply

The Neighbourhood Policing Guarantee will be supported by the commitment to deliver an additional 13,000 additional police officers, PCSOs and special constables in neighbourhood policing roles. There will be funding of £100 million to kickstart delivery, as announced by the Prime Minister in December 2024.We will work with police forces on the mix of roles which will make up those 13,000 additional personnel, will vary from force to force, depending on their needs and existing staffing.

We are currently in the process of devising a new performance framework for neighbourhood policing to improve standards and performance across the country. We are engaging with police forces, the College of Policing and National Police Chiefs’ Council to agree the content of the performance framework, including assessing which measures are available nationally and at the local level. The Guarantee and associated performance framework will ensure everyone, regardless of where they live, receives strengthened and more consistent neighbourhood policing.
