This includes providing procurement support, subject matter expertise, and funding, which encompasses both capital and revenue. The North-West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust has received approximately £9 million of funding from NHS England to date, with a further £3 million of funding due to be received this year. AskedWith reference to her Department's news story entitled First illegal migrants returned under new UK-France agreement, published on 18 September, what was the cost of each flight.
ReplyThe Home Office has made returns under the new UK-France agreement utilising both charter flights and regular scheduled flights. This approach allows the Home Office to maximise value for money and best satisfy operational requirements. We do not comment on individual charter flight costs as these are commercially sensitive arrangements that can provide an insight into pricing structure. To do otherwise could deter the private sector from entering into contracts with the Home Office.

This deployment involves hundreds of UK personnel. In a demonstration of the UK’s ongoing and steadfast support for NATO’s collective defence, the Defence Secretary has confirmed that the UK’s contribution to Eastern Sentry will continue until at least the end of 2025, ensuring the security of NATO territory and deterring further aggression.

AskedWhat security checks her Department undertakes on refugees coming to the UK from Gaza.
ReplyThe Government is supporting a group of Chevening Scholars and fully funded scholarship students to depart from Gaza to take up university places in the UK in Autumn for the 2025/26 academic year. The Government has also committed to evacuate a limited number of sick and injured children out of Gaza to receive specialist treatment in NHS hospitals across the UK. These individuals are not refugees and are not entering the UK using refugee resettlement routes. All visa applicants are required to provide their biographic and biometric data to enable a range of security checks to be completed, including criminality checks.Robust security checks are being undertaken on all individuals who enter the UK through this process. Biometrics are collected as part of the visa application process and prior to travel to the UK.The Home Office uses various tools to detect and disrupt travel by terrorists, by criminals and by individuals excluded from the UK; previously deported from the UK; or using lost, stolen or revoked documents and visas. This includes the use of domestic and international watchlists. The Home Office works with both law enforcement and wider government partners to ensure appropriate action is taken before travel or at the border when individuals of concern are identified. It would not be appropriate to provide further information about the nature and scope of security checks.

AskedPursuant to the Answer of 9 September 2025 to Question 72364 on Electronic Patient Records, what level on the HIMMS scale will Hinchingbrooke Hospital be required to achieve before completion as part of the New Hospital Programme.
ReplyThe New Hospital Programme (NHP) and the Frontline Productivity Programmes do not use the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) grading system. When frontline digitisation began, it was broadly looking to align capabilities of new electronic patient record (EPR) systems to HIMSS level 5, out of 7, but this is only a broad correlation.Hinchingbrooke Hospital is part of North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, which is currently part way through the business case process for a new EPR. Hinchingbrooke has also recently submitted its strategic outline case for their new hospital as part of the New Hospitals Programme, which is due for consideration this month. The level of digital maturity that is required of hospitals in the NHP has been carefully assessed. All NHP sites will be required to deliver core capabilities in their digital systems which will enable the new hospitals to deliver modern, digitally enabled care.

AskedWhat power capacity upgrades will take place in Huntingdon constituency via the Rapid Charging Fund.
ReplyA reliable, accessible public charging network to support EV drivers on long journeys is essential to support the EV transition. The market has changed significantly since the Rapid Charging Fund was announced, with now over 6,000 open-access, rapid and ultra-rapid chargepoints within one mile of the Strategic Road Network – more than quadrupling in the last three years (July 2022 – July 2025, Zapmap). No grant funding was awarded via the Rapid Charging Fund to Huntingdon. We are adapting our approach to meet the needs of industry today. The recent Spending Review announced £400m for charging infrastructure, including to support charging on the Strategic Road Network. We will use lessons from the Rapid Charging Fund pilot and continue working with industry to target financial support where it is needed most.

AskedWith reference to page 127 of the Strategic Defence Review, published on 2 June 2025, what progress he has made on tackling barriers to interoperability between defence and the UK Intelligence Community.
ReplyCollaboration with partners across Government, including the UK Intelligence Community (UKIC), is essential to Defence outputs-both in routine activity and on operations. The Strategic Defence Review (SDR) sets a clear ambition to strengthen collaboration and interoperability, enabling delivery of the Integrated Force and the Digital Targeting Web. Defence is already interoperable with Government partners and capable of sharing data and intelligence. However, there are further opportunities to improve. To address this, multiple programmes are ongoing which aim to enhance interoperability and remove barriers to information sharing. These initiatives vary in maturity but are already being adopted across the MOD and UKIC and delivering measurable benefits.Additional work is underway to modernise data-handling approaches across National Security, leveraging technological advances to enable machine-speed sharing where appropriate. Combined with the MOD's broader technology modernisation programmes, these efforts will deliver improved capability, interoperability, and resilience across Defence and Government partners.

ReplyThe Royal Navy has made significant early progress in delivering an integrated frigate force comprising crewed, uncrewed, and autonomous platforms, in line with Recommendation 38 of SDR 25. This initiative is central to our future Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) capability and is being pursued through a new, dynamic partnership with industry. The Type-26 Frigate remains the cornerstone of the RN’s crewed anti-submarine warfare capability plan and will be at the heart of the future fleet. The Atlantic Bastion programme operates with T26 at its centre and will secure the North Atlantic against subsurface threats for the UK and NATO. We have initiated trials of several uncrewed surface and sub-surface systems with the intent that uncrewed systems will integrate with Type 26 and other fleet assets.
