11 May 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredOur country and party simply cannot afford more of the same - people want politics and politicians who connect on a human level, are true to our Labour values and will deliver for our communities. (3/3)
11 May 2026Defence & SecuritymeasuredKnee jerk reactions and a rushed process will only increase instability in an already unstable world - that would be unforgivable in the current global climate. (2/3)
11 May 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredThe Prime Minister needs to show he understands the scale of the challenge facing our country. Today’s speech fell short and if it is just more of the same, then he has to lay a timetable for an orderly transition. (1/3)
7 May 2026MP & ParliamentcelebratoryWhat have Labur done for you? All this and more: 🏡 Renter’s Rights 🏥 8500 more mental health workers in the NHS (3 years ahead of schedule) 🛑 stopping new council homes being sold off 🚭 smoking ban to protect children ⏱️ NHS waiting list going down 📚 more SEND funds ✋ kept us out of Trump’s war
6 May 2026Technology & DigitalangryUpdate on this report of Islamophobia - yesterday, Facebook came back to me to say that they reviewed this post and it did not violate their standards. Begs the question, what does meta think Islamophobia actually looks like? Because this looks like a blatant example to me and most others.
6 May 2026Culture & CommunityangryIt was wrong when the media did this to Ed Miliband when he was leader and it is wrong to do this to Polanski. Genuinely have no idea how awfulness like this gets past editors… It’s really not that hard to criticise policies or politicians without being antisemitic.
5 May 2026MP & ParliamentangryThis is disgusting but it’s not just one Reform candidate, it’s become a regular of output of hatred. If Farage doesn’t deal with them then he isn’t just complicit, he is actively endorsing the racism, misogony and Islamophobia that his candidates preach. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
2 May 2026media-criticismsarcasticThis is off the charts mad and bad for so many reasons. But it’s telling that the Telegraph think it’s only mum’s that do the laundry. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Someone needs to tell the Telegraph it’s 2026 not 1926.
2 May 2026MP & ParliamentdefensiveI think maybe check out some of my earlier work before saying this. Thanks
2 May 2026MP & ParliamentsarcasticOooft, that was almost as heavy as the baggage Nigel Farage carries with him. Reform stands by: Women beating MPs, Homophobia, Misogynists, Racism, Putin, Trump, Not to mention the dodgy £5 million crypto 👀👀 www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
30 Apr 2026Crime & Policingangry“neo-Nazi who drew up a "kill list" of customers + colleagues at Tesco where he worked has been found guilty of planning a mass gun attack.” He listed “race traitors” for having non-white partners. Thank god he was stopped. Hatred like this has no place in our society news.sky.com/story/neo-na...
29 Apr 2026Culture & CommunityempatheticDeeply saddened to hear of another attack targeting the Jewish community in north London. My thoughts are with the victims and their families, and those across the country understandably feeling fearful. Antisemitism should have no place in the UK.
28 Apr 2026Defence & SecuritymeasuredIsrael's E1 settlement plan is a particular concern - it undermines the viability of a Palestinian state and is a direct breach of international law. I will continue to take this matter up at the highest levels.
28 Apr 2026Defence & SecuritymeasuredIt was a pleasure to meet with Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan HE Manar Dabbas, to discuss shared concerns about the escalating situation in Gaza and the West Bank, and peace in the region more generally. 🇬🇧🇯🇴
27 Apr 2026Technology & DigitalangryTW: Not new news but I reported this blatant hateful and anti-Muslim propaganda on Facebook. Facebook’s response today…nah, ok by us. Disgraceful.
26 Apr 2026Culture & CommunityempatheticThis yr’s Lesbian Visibility Day theme is health and wellbeing. Our @commonswec.parliament.uk work has shown things have got worse not better. At a time when more lesbians are questioned if they’re in the 'right' space and see the row back on LGBTQIA rights, we need to challenge and stop the hate.
24 Apr 2026MP & ParliamentsarcasticOur country is so much better than Reform. And for the right wing snowflakes…we are just saying it like it is. youtu.be/to4z3CbkhuI?...
23 Apr 2026Housing & PlanningcelebratoryThis change for renters was made with both the head and heart! It will be an impawtant change for so many 🐾
20 Apr 2026Crime & PolicingmeasuredThe government has rightly committed £10m extra to protect synagogues, and is leading inquiries into antisemitism in the NHS & educational settings. We must support this work while being unequivocal in condemnation: antisemitism should have no place in our country.
20 Apr 2026Culture & CommunitymeasuredAs Chair of @commonswec.parliament.uk I am leading an inquiry into community cohesion. We have heard from the Community Security Trust and Antisemitism Policy Trust. They spoke powerfully about the difficulties facing, and resilience of, the British Jewish community.
20 Apr 2026Culture & CommunityangryWe should be unequivocal: attempts to downplay or excuse these attacks by connecting British Jews to the actions of the Israeli government are antisemitic and unacceptable.
20 Apr 2026Crime & PolicingangryRecent attacks on the Jewish community in the UK are abhorrent. It is deeply concerning that British Jews are feeling fear in their own neighbourhoods, having to hide religious symbols and increase security at events and synagogues.
11 Apr 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryI shout out small and local businesses across Luton North on Saturdays. We have so many fantastic small businesses in the town, who are a part of our amazing community so if you know any in Luton North that would like to be part of the small biz Sats - email me💻 👉 sarah.owen.mp@parliament.uk
11 Apr 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryI was so excited about this Small Business Saturday Shout Out to Sensory5 A haven for children and adults with SEND to hire with their family member or carer. Each room is beautifully themed, plenty of interactive equipment and the ability to tone things down to a calm, quiet space as well.
8 Apr 2026Defence & SecuritymeasuredI met recently with Islamic Relief UK and they shared their emergency humanitarian work taking place in Lebanon. You can support and find out more here: islamic-relief.org/appeals/leba...
8 Apr 2026Defence & Securitymeasured“We call upon all sides to implement the ceasefire, including in Lebanon.” A key and important sentence in a welcome joint statement from our government, European countries, Canada and Japan.
7 Apr 2026Defence & SecurityangryThis is a threat to wipe out an entire ‘civilisation’ which obviously includes civilians. Trump shows zero regard for international law. I don’t care what motivates him to make the world a scarier place day by day - whether it is thirst for oil or the distraction - he needs to stop.
7 Apr 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryI’m delighted to share that after years of campaigning alongside so many constituents as well as brilliant charities, we are now firmly on the road to stopping nuisance fireworks. As soon as the consultation opens, I’ll be inviting Lutonians to take part. www.politicshome.com/news/article...
5 Apr 2026Defence & SecurityangryJust another normal day for Donald Trump. Zero regard for international law, anyone or anything other than himself.
3 Apr 2026Energy & Net ZerosarcasticWill new drilling bring UK energy bills down? No Will it increase reliance on fossil fuels and contribute to climate change? Yes So thank goodness any speculation is unfounded. news.sky.com/story/specul...
