14 Jul 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredYou can't solve 21st century problems with 20th century party politics... and definitely not with a 19th century voting system. It's time to move on from First Past the Post - and recognise that if we're going to get things done, we need a system where everyone's voices are heard.
14 Jul 2026Health & NHScelebratoryA huge thank you to The Urology Foundation for supporting the APPG and helping to make yesterday’s meeting possible!
14 Jul 2026Health & NHScelebratoryIt was so encouraging to hear about the progress being made for people living with chronic and recurrent UTIs. There is still much more to do, but bringing patients, clinicians and campaigners together is an important part of securing real change.
14 Jul 2026Health & NHSmeasuredDr Cat Anderson and Mr Sachin Malde updated us on the Delphi study and how it could support the development of future UTI guidance. Miss Maga Kujawa spoke about the national audit of UTI care, while Rebecca Porta and Helen Lake presented the completed mapping of specialist UTI clinics.
14 Jul 2026Health & NHSempatheticHer experience shows just how urgently patients need to be listened to and how much more work is needed to improve the treatments. Monday’s meeting brought together people from across the UTI community to share their expertise and hear about the important work taking place.
14 Jul 2026Health & NHScelebratoryIt was fantastic to host the second meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on UTIs in Parliament yesterday. I set up the group after hearing from my constituent Phoebe, who has lived with a Chronic UTI for years and has spoken so consistently and bravely about the reality of the condition.
13 Jul 2026Technology & DigitalangryThe Guardian have carried my comments on the urgent need for the Govt to send a serious signal of intent by leaving X. There’s nothing left to be gained there - Musk has shaped it in his own chaotic and dangerous image. The Govt must stop tacitly tolerating it. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
12 Jul 2026Cost of Livingsarcastic£6.50 for a 99 flake at RHS Badminton today. Outrageous. #VoteBinface
11 Jul 2026Technology & DigitalangryAs I said in the Commons last week, Elon Musk is hostile to British values and we must break our addiction to his hateful algorithm. Tommy Robinson is a traitor to our country, and anyone who supports him cannot be forgiven. youtu.be/NEiTYwvooUc?...
10 Jul 2026Tax & Public FinancesangryThe Capita Pensions fiasco is beyond alarming - I've heard from so many of those affected. I took the opportunity in Parliament this week to push Capita on how exactly they plan to right this wrong and finally give people access to their hard-earned pension.
10 Jul 2026Local GovernmentcelebratoryStill buzzing from last night's fantastic result in Streatham - huge congratulations to Cllr Alex Davies! Through the neverending heat, Alex's campaign was positive, serious and grounded in community - which is how you know he'll be a superb Cllr (once again).
10 Jul 2026Crime & PolicingangryIn this Cost of Living Crisis - it's shocking that so many scammers are preying on struggling people. It was great to hear from Citizens Advice, Crimestoppers Trust, Take Five to Stop Fraud and Neighbourhood Watch in Parliament to hear how they're tackling it: www.ourwatch.org.uk/protectfromf...
10 Jul 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryGreat buildings make great communities. Oru Sutton is one of those - and it was great to be given a proper tour by the Royal Institute of British Architects recently. This project has played a key role in growth of our high street and was recently announced as a winner in the RIBA London Awards.
9 Jul 2026Crime & PolicingmeasuredJury Trials aren't the reason we have a huge backlog in the courts - so there's no excuse for scrapping them. Earlier today I pushed the Govt to get serious about unblocking our legal system without attacking a vital part of our democracy.
9 Jul 2026Cost of Livingempathetic51% of people feel more worried about their finances now than they did 12 months ago. But there’s still a taboo around money, mental health & suicide. It’s great to see initiatives like Money Talks continue to offer support and confront the hard conversations. www.moneysupermarket.com/moneytalks/
7 Jul 2026MP & ParliamentangryIf you have done nothing wrong, why are you running away? Standing down is not the sign of a leader, it’s the sign of a small man who has grifted his way through life without consequences finally being found out. Nigel has found out that - unlike for his hero Trump - in UK politics, rules matter.
7 Jul 2026Culture & CommunityangryAfter Infantino totally surrendered all footballing norms and values (and rules!) by overturning the Balogun red, he is done, surely? Only a full clear out of the filth at the top of FIFA can restore confidence that this is not the new normal, that rules mean nothing and might is right.
7 Jul 2026Culture & CommunityangryEvery minute of Gianni Infantino’s time at the top of FIFA has led to this disgrace, carrying the torch fanned by Blatter. Infantino’s supine grovelling at Trump’s feet, the FIFA peace prize (!!!) exemplifying the humiliation of football for the fragile ego of the worst person on the planet.
7 Jul 2026Culture & CommunitysarcasticWell done to Belgium for their win, the world breathed a sigh of relief. Also well done to the USA team who were caught up in the rotten, corrupt world of DJT. This must be the end of the shameful Infantino reign at the top of the FIFA pyramid scheme, before world football is broken beyond repair.
3 Jul 2026Local GovernmentcelebratoryICYMI this week: Sutton is set to receive up to £10,000 to fund projects such as outdoor dining areas, live music and community events. Keep your eyes peeled for more details soon! www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
2 Jul 2026Economy & Jobs (General)measuredSo many commentators who talk about a change of direction with a new PM are massively missing the mark on one key thing that he hasn't committed to yet - fixing our broken relationship with Europe. Until that changes, little else in our economy will.
1 Jul 2026Health & NHSmeasuredAs we enjoy the World Cup, it’s important to remember that major sporting events can be a difficult time for people affected by gambling harms. If you or someone you know needs support, the National Gambling Helpline is available 24/7, free and confidential on 0808 8020 133. www.gamcare.org.uk
30 Jun 2026Local Governmentmeasured🤔 Did you know? 💪 Our hardworking Lib Dem councillors across Sutton, Cheam and Worcester Park hold monthly surgeries where they can offer advice on getting support or information about local issues. 🔍️ Find your ward's surgery details using the interactive map at:
30 Jun 2026Health & NHSmeasuredI'm backing the #BeTickAware campaign run by Lyme Disease UK. It's peak tick season, so there's a higher risk of bites while outdoors. Bite prevention and safe removal is important to reduce the risk of Lyme disease. Learn how to protect yourself, your family and pets at lymediseaseuk.com
29 Jun 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryGreat to attend the 'In Conversation with the Hindu Community' event today in Parliament. British Hindus have made a huge, enriching contribution to so many parts of our society and our economy. I will continue to stand up for members of the community in Sutton, Cheam, Worcester Park and beyond.
29 Jun 2026Health & NHSmeasuredMy local Lib Dem colleagues and I have today written to the Minister of State for Health to get clarity on the possible relocation of Women's Health Services from St Helier due to safety concerns. Time and time again we see that it is women bearing the brunt of our neglected healthcare system.

26 Jun 2026TransportangryCompletely agree with Will Norman on this. This is a terrible example being set by the LTA putting more dangerous vehicles on the road, especially insensitive considering the incident at The Study school in Wimbledon where the destructive power of these vehicles was shown to be so deadly.
