13 May 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredI don’t believe people want us to plunge ourselves into a leadership election and spend weeks, or even months, talking amongst ourselves instead of working for them. There is also no clear frontrunner. For the good of our economy and our country, let’s just get back to work.
13 May 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredI don’t like to comment on Westminster dramas. I want our focus to be on delivering change for our constituents and our country. However, lots of Bolton residents have been asking about my thoughts on the country’s leadership this week.
11 May 2026Local GovernmentmeasuredMy first priority has always been the people of Bolton, and I will put aside any differences and work constructively with the new council to make sure they deliver for our area.
11 May 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredI’d like to pay tribute to all the volunteers and activists who helped knock on hundreds of doors, deliver leaflets, and have those all-important conversations with voters.
11 May 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredThe election results are bitterly disappointing, and voters have sent us an important message which we have to acknowledge. We have lost some fantastic, experienced councillors and I want to thank them for their dedication to our town and communities over many years.
5 May 2026Local GovernmentcelebratoryOut in Halliwell with Councillor Safwaan Patel who is up for re-election this Thursday. Our Labour councillors are working hard delivering for their communities. Don’t be the reason that ends. Vote Labour this Thursday 7 May 🌹
1 May 2026Jobs & EmploymentcelebratoryAs someone whose route into politics started following an employment dispute, I’m always proud to stand with workers fighting for fair pay, secure jobs and dignity at work. #InternationalWorkersDay
1 May 2026Local GovernmentcelebratoryGreat to be out on the doors for Cllr Nick Peel and back doing visits in and around Bolton North East ahead of local elections on 7 May! 🌹
1 Apr 2026Local GovernmentcelebratoryIt’s been great being back out on the doors with the Labour team for Councillor Nick Peel in Tonge with The Haulgh 🌹 Local elections are just around the corner! Make sure you’re registered to vote by 20th April! 🗳️
1 Apr 2026Housing & PlanningcelebratoryI’m passionate about housing and know from my time as an MP so far just how much of a difference it will make if we can get this right. Read more below 👇🏼
