13 Jul 2026Health & NHScelebratory🩺 No patient should ever be left waiting in a corridor. NUH’s progress reflects the incredible work of NHS staff at QMC and Nottingham City Hospital. Thank you to every member of the team. More needs to be done, and I will keep fighting for better NHS care for Rushcliffe.
10 Jul 2026Social Careangry♿️ Too many disabled people are being failed by the system. Yesterday, I highlighted a constituent's PIP case: despite no change in his condition, he scored zero points and waited two years for justice until my team won at tribunal. I urged the minister to ensure these dehumanising failures end.
9 Jul 2026Energy & Net Zerocelebratory🌱 As we approach the end of Net Zero Week, I've been thinking about the great conversations and events taking place. I joined a roundtable on “How to Power Data Centres”. A great discussion on the challenges ahead, the need to act quickly, and how gov can help drive progress towards net zero.
8 Jul 2026Defence & Securitymeasured🇬🇧 Many constituents have contacted me about Russian-linked interference in British politics. I raised these concerns with the Minister, pressing for loopholes used by shell companies and proxy donors to be closed. Protecting our democracy means protecting our elections.
7 Jul 2026Environmentmeasured♻️🚨 Communities should never have to live with the consequences of waste crime. Yesterday I raised the devastating Hathernware fire in Rushcliffe, the need for agencies to work together, and court delays holding back Environment Agency action. The minister agreed to raise my concerns.
6 Jul 2026Economy & Jobs (General)measured🇬🇧 I support strengthening British steel but not at the expense of British jobs. I raised Rushcliffe businesses' concerns about steel tariffs, including those from British Gypsum, and urged better transitional support. I'm pleased those concerns have been heard and will keep backing local jobs.
2 Jul 2026Social Carecelebratory👶🏼 Today, the Prime Minister delivered a long-overdue apology to people affected by forced adoption. I welcomed it and asked how we can build on this by doing more to support Britain's child migrants. 🙏🏼The Child Migrants Trust in Rushcliffe continues to do vital work for survivors.
1 Jul 2026Transportmeasured🚧Bridge Update: Kirk Hill & Zouch Both projects remain on schedule and are due to reopen in July. Zouch is now open to pedestrians, cyclists, wheelchair users and equestrians, with local traffic and buses returning in early July. HGV diversions remain until Kirk Hill reopens.
1 Jul 2026Health & NHSmeasured🩺 Many constituents living with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) have shared concerns about the current in-service evaluation (ISE), particularly the lack of clarity on timelines. In parliament, I urged the minister to provide greater transparency so patients and families have certainty and confidence.
30 Jun 2026Crime & Policingmeasured⚖️ The gov has announced that offenders in England and Wales who murder a current or former partner could now face up to 10 extra years in prison. This is a welcome step but more reform is still needed to ensure justice, accountability and protection for women. 🔗 tinyurl.com/49jtwcbs
30 Jun 2026Agriculture & Rural Economymeasured🌾Domestic fertiliser production is vital for UK food security. The UK once met ~40% of nitrogen fertiliser needs, but capacity has declined, increasing reliance on imports. I asked the Minister to work to rebuild capacity and will keep pushing for farmers and rural communities.
30 Jun 2026Energy & Net Zeromeasured♨️ Great to meet Cadent reps in Parliament yesterday to discuss Warm Spaces in Rushcliffe, local work and investment. Cadent employs 6,000+ people across England, with 1,500+ in East Midlands maintaining vital infrastructure. We discussed energy resilience and fuel poverty amid rising costs.
29 Jun 2026Health & NHScelebratory🩺🎉 Good news for Rushcliffe and our NHS. The dispute with resident doctors has been resolved, meaning less disruption for patients and a fresh start for the NHS. The deal boosts pay, reimburses exam fees, and creates 4,500 extra training places. 🙏🏼Great news for staff and patients in Rushcliffe.

10 Jun 2026Immigrationmeasured🇺🇦🇭🇰🇦🇫 Last week I spoke in a debate on immigration. Many migration figures include people we invited to the UK through humanitarian routes, including Hongkongers, Ukrainians and Afghans. We need a more honest debate that recognises humanitarian commitments and the values behind them.
9 Jun 2026Transportmeasured🏠🌾🌊 I recently spoke in parliament about the "rural penalty", with people in rural areas spending an average of £39 more a week on transport. I believe there's a coastal penalty too. Rural, coastal and urban communities face different challenges, and government policy must reflect that.
3 Jun 2026Health & NHSmeasured💊🏥 Community pharmacies play a vital role in Rushcliffe. Yesterday, I spoke in parliament about the success of independent prescribing locally and asked whether enough investment is being made for the national rollout. I didn't get a response, but I hope the Minister looks carefully at the issue.

1 Jun 2026Health & NHScelebratory💊Pleased the government has confirmed NHS funded independent prescribing in community pharmacies from autumn 2026. After raising this in parliament, I'm glad to see progress that will improve patient access to care and ease pressure on GPs. tinyurl.com/ycyy3n26
28 May 2026Local Governmentmeasured🚗 Constituents raised concerns about cuts to Rushcliffe CVS voluntary driver scheme and local services, a lifeline for elderly and vulnerable residents. I’ve written to Nottinghamshire County Council seeking answers on impact and decisions, questioning cuts despite rising funding. I’ll keep pushing.
