31 May 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratorySo glad I found time to attend the event in Checkendon commemorating the 80th anniversary of the arrival of allied Polish troops at Checkendon camp. In those woods, a home was made, traditions preserved, and hope restored. The event was a great mix of fun, celebration and remembrance.
29 May 2026EducationmeasuredAnother school visit, another school in need to investment in its buildings. Last week I caught up with Cllr Georgina Heritage at Mill Lane Primary in Chinnor. We’re going to work together to get the school what it needs. With Chinnor’s growth there must come better infrastructure
28 May 2026Local GovernmentmeasuredI have written to the Secretary of State for Defra to highlight the importance of Marsh Lock Horse Bridge to the local community and to urge that plans continue to progress, with delivery treated as a priority.
27 May 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryWonderful to visit Le Manoir in Great Milton and hear more about their plans for the future. An internationally renowned eatery on our door step. I’m excited to see the new menu for the more modestly priced(!) brasserie concept that will sit along side its famous two star restaurant.
27 May 2026Economy & Jobs (General)measuredI attended VIRTUS Data Centres drop-in to learn more about building sustainable digital infrastructure while supporting the UK's wider economic growth ambitions
27 May 2026EducationmeasuredTomorrow I will be attending a forum on the proposed SEND White Paper. I am interested to hear the perspectives of parents, carers, supporters, and teachers on changes. www.thametowncouncil.gov.uk/community/ev...
26 May 2026Health & NHSmeasuredI attended a meeting on the recommendations from the Independent ADHD Taskforce. They align with the government priorities for health, but there has been a lack of engagement from Ministers and DHSC. I joined the APPG for ADHD in calling for a formal response from the government.
23 May 2026EnvironmentcelebratoryI visited Chinnor Allotments with Cllr Georgina Heritage and Cllr Ed Sadler, committing to support peat-free compost and protect peatland
22 May 2026TransportmeasuredFixing a bridge shouldn’t be this hard, but since it is, I’ll fight until it’s done
21 May 2026Health & NHSmeasuredThis week I wrote to the Minister supporting calls for a National Dementia Risk Reduction Campaign delivered by the NHS. Almost 1 million people in the UK live with dementia, yet many cases could be prevented or delayed through better awareness of brain health and risk factors.
19 May 2026Crime & PolicingmeasuredToday, Vikki Slade MP raised Dr Jasmine Kelland’s research on fathering in prison with the Secretary of State for Justice. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr Kelland earlier this year to discuss her work and the importance of her policy recommendations for rehabilitation.
19 May 2026TransportmeasuredI asked the Minister to increase funding for active travel, given the significantly larger sums invested in major infrastructure projects such as HS2. The Thame to Haddenham Greenway would provide a safe walking and wheeling route that campaigners have been asking for over the last 25 years.
18 May 2026Housing & PlanningmeasuredI have been investigating whether any pressure was put on the Environment Agency to lift its holding objection to new homes around Oxford. The situation is as murky as the water in our rivers... See the full video here 👇 www.facebook.com/share/v/18fj...
15 May 2026EnvironmentmeasuredA reminder that next Wednesday, the EA, in partnership with National Trails and HTC, will host a Marsh Lock Horsebridge information event to provide an update on the project, share progress, and discuss the options being considered. Come along to ask questions and share your views on plans.
15 May 2026Health & NHSempatheticMy thoughts are with the family and friends of the students affected. I’m also urging everyone in the area to re-familiarise themselves with the symptoms and signs of meningitis. bbc.in/4tUyrJD

13 May 2026Economy & Jobs (General)celebratoryGreat discussion on the important role the B Corp business community, which includes Ella's Kitchen, plays in our local economic development. The team also shared their ideas for how they can grow the impact and influence of the movement in Henley and Thame and right across South Oxfordshire. 🍓
8 May 2026Health & NHScelebratoryDelighted new medicine for Duchenne has been approved by NICE so boys in Oxfordshire will finally benefit from it. It’s taken too long and OUH should have given early access but relieved it’s finally here. The work we’ve done with OUH means there should be minimal delay to boys getting the medicine.
7 May 2026Local GovernmentcelebratoryPleased to get out in Wargrave to support Katrin Harding in today’s elections in Wokingham (none in South Oxfordshire). Best of luck!
7 May 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredThere are lots of international comparisons to look at, that’s why we need a proper study as a first step to a bespoke model for the UK on this
7 May 2026Technology & DigitalmeasuredIn the Science, Innovation and Technology Committee, we scrutinised the Government’s preferred candidate for the role of Chair of UK Research and Innovation. I asked Professor Sir Leszek Borysiewicz how he would ensure taxpayers’ money is used in the most efficient way.
7 May 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredI am campaigning to improve overseas voting - here is my message explaining why it's important 👇 bsky.app/profile/libd...
5 May 2026Utilities & WatermeasuredI visited Wheatley residents who have spent the past six years battling to stop raw sewage flooding into their homes during heavy rain. My Bill would stop Thames Water delaying or avoiding fines and ensure water companies face enforceable consequences for environmental breaches.
5 May 2026Local GovernmentmeasuredCo-op closure in Dorchester: I’ve written to the co-op to ask why they plan to close this vital shop for the community. Residents have shared with me their concerns who are worried about the impact this will have on the village
1 May 2026Utilities & WatermeasuredThe Public Office Bill will hold those who deliver public services to account. Water companies in England and Wales are privately owned but deliver an essential public service, yet are not required to follow the Bill’s code of conduct. I have written to the Secretary of State to change this.
30 Apr 2026Energy & Net ZerocelebratoryI had the chance to visit HR Wallingford who are doing impressive work to de risk floating offshore wind technologies in realistic deep-water conditions. Their work showcases incredible UK innovation and will help contribute to net zero ambitions.🌟
30 Apr 2026Culture & CommunitycelebratoryI had the pleasure of meeting Paul Carey, who is working on an exciting project to launch Henley Radio. I’m looking forward to seeing the station up and running, featuring local guests and showcasing the incredible talent we have on our doorstep. 📻🎵🎧
28 Apr 2026MP & ParliamentmeasuredThat’s what the privileges committee is there for - to answer that question
28 Apr 2026Health & NHScelebratoryGreat news that Warneford Hospital has passed the next stage of the planning process. For too long, the facilities have not reflected the excellence of the care and research taking place. Meaningful investment in Warneford, alongside a robust and transparent process, will deliver high‑quality care.
28 Apr 2026TransportmeasuredNetwork Rail have committed to clearing trackside litter on the Regatta Line after I raised concerns with them earlier this month.
