I thank the Defence Secretary for his statement, but I think it asks a lot more questions than it answers. Will he outline exactly how the dataset came to be accidentally emailed? Will he confirm that it was indeed an accident? What was the security classification of that dataset? Who was the dataset emailed to, given

14 Jul 2025Topical Questions

It was recently announced that the surplus Ministry of Defence land at RAF Wyton in my constituency has been designated as an MOD trailblazer site. The Housing Minister confirmed to me last week that no assessment has yet been made of the energy infrastructure currently in place. The Prime Minister recently confirmed t

13 Jul 2025Northern Ireland Veterans: Prosecution

It is a pleasure to serve under your chairmanship, Ms Lewell. I thank the more than 175,000 people who signed this e-petition, of whom 403 are my Huntingdon constituents. I would like to start by paying particular tribute to the military personnel who served in Northern Ireland on Operation Banner between August 1969 a

9 Jul 2025 UK-France Nuclear Partnership

I welcome the announcement of strengthened collaboration with France, although reading between the lines, it sounds like “co-ordination” is actually submarine patrol deconfliction. Our aerial participation in the NATO nuclear mission is still a decade away, with the completion of F-35A delivery not scheduled until 2033

9 Jul 2025Speaker's Conference (2024) — Oral Evidence (HC 570)

Could you go back to your team and, likewise, ask for the report to include whether that the metadata for those data is provided? Megan Thomas indicated assent.

9 Jul 2025Speaker's Conference (2024) — Oral Evidence (HC 570)

Could you include within the report that Clive has asked for the number of times that the IP address and the cell tower location has been provided for police requests? That would be interesting to know, given that the police would be able to triangulate who an individual was from that, irrespective of whether they had

9 Jul 2025Speaker's Conference (2024) — Oral Evidence (HC 570)

What location data do you have for people who have posted from a phone? Can you tell what country it is from, which cell tower it has pinged from, or any of that kind of data?

9 Jul 2025Speaker's Conference (2024) — Oral Evidence (HC 570)

You have the IP address of the person, and you have presumably have the phone number, or can tell which country or region it is in?

9 Jul 2025Speaker's Conference (2024) — Oral Evidence (HC 570)

Claire and Megan, what location data do you have access to for accounts that are posting anonymously—in terms of the metadata available in the back end of the system?

9 Jul 2025Speaker's Conference (2024) — Oral Evidence (HC 570)

Do you know who David Amess is?

9 Jul 2025Speaker's Conference (2024) — Oral Evidence (HC 570)

I have asked you a very specific question, which you don’t seem to be able to answer. What is the threshold for X to be able to provide information about an individual who has made an illegal racist comment, in response to a request from the police? This is not from an individual. It is from the police.

9 Jul 2025Speaker's Conference (2024) — Oral Evidence (HC 570)

What does that mean?

9 Jul 2025Speaker's Conference (2024) — Oral Evidence (HC 570)

What is the threshold for evidence? I have just read out a load of tweets. What is your threshold for evidence in order for the police to be given the details of the identity of the individual who has made those comments?

9 Jul 2025Speaker's Conference (2024) — Oral Evidence (HC 570)

You don’t provide that information. You refuse to.

9 Jul 2025Speaker's Conference (2024) — Oral Evidence (HC 570)

On that, whenever I have reported comments to the police, when they have investigated them, they have submitted an Optica request to X and X has refused to provide the identity of the individuals who have made those comments. Could you also speak to that point? Why do you refuse to co-operate with law enforcement?

9 Jul 2025Speaker's Conference (2024) — Oral Evidence (HC 570)

Can I ask what X’s definition of hate is? I have long since stopped reporting comments that I receive on X. I have received death threats that have been investigated by the police but not removed by the platform. I have had numerous examples of comments that have not been removed, where individuals have been prosecuted

7 Jul 2025 Local Government Reform: Cambridgeshire

I wholeheartedly agree. We saw that only last week, when the 10-year health plan was rolled out. The Government would have known full well that this contradicted their previous stance. How does the Government’s merging three ICBs together to make one of the largest in the country chime with the need to reorganise those

7 Jul 2025 Local Government Reform: Cambridgeshire

I wholeheartedly agree with my right hon. Friend. I will come on to the division of assets. There is such a staggering lack of detail that I do not know how residents can possibly hope to make a good decision based on all the information. To gain an insight into the current finances, I have had to turn to the House of

7 Jul 2025 Local Government Reform: Cambridgeshire

I beg to move, That this House has considered local government reform in Cambridgeshire. It is a pleasure to serve under your chairmanship, Mr Stuart. 6 Jul 2025 Giving Every Child the Best Start in Life

I spoke about SEND funding in Cambridgeshire in a Westminster Hall last month, and I was inundated with correspondence from constituents who find themselves suffering because of the county council’s inability to meet the statutory delivery timeframe for EHCPs—an issue that is set only to worsen with the lack of clarity
