A safe LD seat, won with 50% of the vote in 2024. Covers Woking, New Haw, West Byfleet and Sheerwater and Byfleet. Population 103,920.

Woking's Liberal Democrat MP has broken with his own party on two significant issues since entering Parliament in 2024. Forster voted against the Tobacco and Vapes Bill at both Second and Third Reading -- bucking his party's majority both times -- suggesting personal reservations about the legislation's approach rather than a one-off dissent. On assisted dying, he backed stricter safeguards in June 2025 than his party as a whole supported, voting for a tougher advertising ban and additional clauses, consistent with his stance profile showing him 26 percentage points more cautious on assisted dying safeguards than the average Lib Dem MP. Beyond Parliament, he has spoken out publicly against Surrey County Council's removal of food vouchers for vulnerable families, and has been quoted as a Liberal Democrat spokesperson criticising the asylum system.

At 74% voting participation, Forster is somewhat below the Commons average and among the lower end of Lib Dem attendees. He votes with his party on 98.9% of divisions where both sides are present. His speeches span a notably wide range -- local government, economy, social care, crime, and immigration each feature heavily across 228 contributions in 144 debates. His stance data shows strong alignment with Lords scrutiny (96%), parliamentary scrutiny (95%), and climate action (88%), while he is sharply out of step with his party on fiscal responsibility (15% aligned) and workers' rights (26% aligned), suggesting a distinctly economically liberal profile.
