Won by Con in its first election in 2024. Covers Tonbridge, Longfield, New Ash Green and Hartley and Edenbridge. Population 90,113. Recorded crime is 38% below the national average.

On the opposition benches, Tugendhat has been most visible recently on national security -- drawing on his background as a former Security Minister to publicly challenge the government over Peter Mandelson's vetting process, arguing it should have been "intrusive and embarrassing" and calling for greater accountability. Locally, he has been active on housing infrastructure, pressing ministers in the Commons over water supply constraints and unachievable housing targets in parts of Kent, and taking credit for helping revive Tonbridge town centre through the "Three years empty is plenty" campaign, which preceded a £20m Sainsbury's expansion in a former department store. In votes, he has lined up with Conservative colleagues in defending Lords amendments to both the Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill and the Pension Schemes Bill -- opposing Labour's attempts to overturn Lords changes, including provisions critics called an unjustified government "power grab" over private pension investment decisions.

His parliamentary participation rate of 53% sits below the Commons average, though this is not unusual for senior opposition figures balancing frontbench duties with constituency work. He votes 100% in line with Conservative Party positions and has no rebel votes on record. His speeches skew heavily toward defence (40 contributions) and economy and jobs (26), with a notable secondary focus on local government and environment. Compared with his Conservative colleagues, he votes more often in favour of local democracy and Lords scrutiny, and is somewhat less aligned with tough-on-crime positions than his party average.
