Represented by LD since 2024. Covers Camberley, Frimley and West End and Chobham. Population 98,164.

Surrey Heath's MP has carved out a distinctive position on assisted dying, breaking with his Liberal Democrat colleagues five times in a single day during the bill's Report Stage in June 2025. Pinkerton voted to tighten safeguards against voluntary stopping of eating and drinking being used to qualify for assisted death -- a position more cautious than most Lib Dems -- while also backing amendments to strengthen procedural protections. His voting pattern on this issue places him notably to the right of his party: his anti-assisted-dying score sits at 20% against a party average of 53%, yet he scores higher than colleagues on end-of-life autonomy safeguards, suggesting a nuanced rather than simply oppositional stance. Beyond assisted dying, he has consistently backed Lords amendments against the government on the Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill and the Pension Schemes Bill, opposing Labour's attempts to override upper-chamber scrutiny.

At 69% participation -- below the Commons average -- Pinkerton is not the most active voter in the chamber, though his 238 speech contributions across 166 debates indicate he is more engaged in debate than his voting attendance alone suggests. Defence and economy-jobs dominate his speaking record, the latter reflected in his securing a Ten Minute Rule slot to champion a UK-EU customs union proposal. He is a near-perfect 96.8% party-line voter outside his assisted dying deviations, and strongly backs Lords and parliamentary scrutiny, climate action, and NHS funding -- the last running 39 percentage points above his party average.
